Don’t let anyone fool you that this blog has ever happened “under cover” or was ever in any way meant to be clandestine. No, I’m the only one here who has come right out and been forthright about my goals.
On the other hand, the church has held May Meetings on how to keep the recordings of talks and other materials off the Internet. Why? If they are preaching truth, what are they trying to hide? Like I’ve said from day one of this blog, truth doesn’t need to be afraid of a lie. If I’m really so drastically wrong, it ought to be a piece of cake to refute the points I make here. But they don’t even try.
Why the secrecy?
Stanton and transparency have never really belonged in the same sentence. From day one of a person’s recruitment at the door to a nonmember class, there is constant subterfuge going on to hide true intention, keep information from a new convert until they’ve been socialized to accept the authority of teachers, etc. Yet keeping teachings secret is not how Jesus operated at all:
John 18:20 – “I have spoken openly to the world,” Jesus replied. “I always taught in synagogues or at the temple, where all the Jews come together. I said nothing in secret.
It’s certainly not how the Paul and the apostles turned the Roman world upside down with the gospel:
Acts 26:25-26 – “I am not insane, most excellent Festus,” Paul replied. “What I am saying is true and reasonable. The king is familiar with these things … I am convinced that none of this has escaped his notice, because it was not done in a corner.”
Let’s shine a little light
To bring more sunlight to Stanton’s unbiblical teachings, I’m inviting you to submit audio of talks or other material to the blog. If there is an audio file that you think is worth me taking the time to listen to and comment on here, please feel free to share. I don’t have unlimited time available, so if you can help by directing my attention to the most interesting parts, that’s even better.
One of the important things this blog has illustrated for current and ex-members is the demonstrably unbiblical nature of their teachings. This StantonLeaks project will help illustrate this in their own words.
How to get files to me
- My preferred method to receive files is Dropbox. Just sign up for a free account, and upload the files into a folder. Next, click to share the folder, but choose the option to make a link. Then open up an email and send the link to kevinmharper@gmail.com.
- Please include in your email some context, if possible. Who is speaking, and when were the talks recorded? Are they from a May Meeting, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, or other meeting? Is there a particular portion of the audio you want to direct my attention to?
- You can also try using Gmail or Google Drive to get files to me.
My standards for publishing
- I won’t take anything out of context. This blog is not a game of gotcha to me. I might quote a relevant snippet, but I’ll do my best to explain the context fairly, and provide the entire audio file for the listener to make their own judgment of context.
- I will never be unfair or vindictive about posting material. People who have read this site for any length of time know and trust that. If you’ve been told differently, give the blog a chance and you will come to understand that you’ve been misled. The only intent of this site is to speak truth in love.
- I may or may not publish everything I receive. I’ll at least need time to review submissions and make sure they’re relevant and useful to the discussions we’re having here on the blog.
I have a nice library of talks from Merie up until I left.
Kevin, I have 23 gigs of talks that I turned to MP3 files. If you want them I can send you a memory stick with them on it.
I'd love that, or you can upload them to Dropbox using the instructions on this page. Thanks!
I just sent you a bunch of talks. Please let me know if you don't get them. I have more to send.
I received them, thanks. If you have any insight into good portions worth listening to, let me know by email.
I have more to send you.
FYI, I removed a comment on this thread because it used a name. But I do look forward to listening to the talk for myself when I receive it.
I would apologize for mentioning the name but I don't know how else to identify the talk that teaches how to emotionally abuse children. The teacher who gave the talk is one of the meanest toward children among the group of leaders.
@Anon 5:35, no worries, I understand. Keep in mind, too, that people change, especially as they start having grandkids. I just want to be overly cautious about even the appearance of vindictiveness. But I do understand your intent.
God bless,
–Kevin
I updated this article on StantonLeaks, and am inviting anyone to send audio of the most recent Labor Day talks. If you have them and are willing to share, that’s great. If you have a specific talk or comment you want to direct my attention to, that’s even better.
Hello Kevin, please check your gmail, I’ve sent you some links to talks.
Got them all downloaded into folders, thank you. I’ll start with the talk you mentioned.
